Summary
A key aspect of the program is to centralize all clinical data collected across Novartis clinical studies to enable secondary research involving clinical trials data. To achieve this goal, a data pipeline has been implemented including tools, parallelized and complex metadata-driven data transformation, powered by Artificial Intelligence to accelerate the generation of this Clinical Data Warehouse. The position is a key collaborator within the Clinical Data Engineering team to develop/maintain this Clinical Pipeline technology using DevOps methodology overseen by the Clinical Data Pipeline Owner and his Technical Leader.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
- Responsible for Data Engineering, Foundry Data Pipeline Creation, Foundry Analysis & Reporting, re-usable code development & management and Integrating Novartis Internal or External System with Foundry for data ingestion with high quality
- Responsible to develop front-end applications using Workshop & Slate framework provided by Foundry according to Clinical Data Pipeline Owner specifications
- Working closely with Clinical Data Engineering team and his Technical Leader to coordinate Clinical Pipeline data engineering requirements
- Have good understanding on Foundry Platform landscape and it’s capabilities
- Evaluate and validate new Foundry platform features and align with the Clinical Pipeline architecture team to realize / enable tech spikes on the foundry platform
- Development of custom Foundry App on Palantir Platform
- When required, collaboration with data scientists, data analyst and technology teams to document and leverage their understanding of the Foundry integration with different data sources - Actively participate in agile work practices
- Coordinating with Quality Engineer to ensure the all quality controls, naming convention & best practices have been followed
- Participate to PoC development and leverage them to an industrialized product
Key performance indicators:
- Delivery of data/software engineering activities in a timely manner for the program.
- Execute CI/CD DevOps principles and maintain technical documentation of any new development.
- Apply Quality Engineering principles to ensure high quality delivery
Job Dimensions:
Impact on the organization: Responsible for the development and maintenance of Clinical Data Pipeline and PoC with high quality & agility; supporting during industrialization of Clinical Pipeline products;
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or any other technology related field; equivalent of the same in working experience may also be accepted
Work Experience:
- 6+ years IT experience, 4+ years’ experience in Big Data platform
- Able to design and implement data integration between different data platforms
- Hands-on experience in AWS cloud platform and stack
- Hands-on in programming languages primarily Java, Python, Unix shell scripts, PySpark, Spark
- Strong in API based architecture and concept, able to do quick PoC using API integration and development
- Strong knowledge of DevOps tools (Artifactory, CI/CD Frameworks)
- Strong knowledge in front-end/back-end development
- Software engineering experience (versioning, Scrum, testing, collaboration good practices)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong experience building big data applications and pipelines.
- Hands-on experience on Palantir Foundry Platform using Code Repository, Code Workbook, Data Connection, Workshop, Slate, etc. components and Foundry custom Apps development
- Ideally AI/ML knowledge and hands-on experience
